As it headed towards the Carolinas Hurricane Irene brushed the Georgia Coast on 8/26/2011. This set of images were captured opn the beach at Tybee Island just before and after dawn at high tide. The waves were hitting the bottom of the fishing pier. Swimming was banned as the storm passed but surf boarders were allowed to enter the water.
